Laptops Suggestions for moderate gaming laptop...

Hi guys,

My friend is planning to purchase a new laptop from India.
Budget : 40 K
Uses:-
Moderate gaming: want to play old games (2006 and before) with medium - high settings and newer games with playable fps and lower settings.
Prefer third person games but would like to try some first person games like medal of honour, call of duty etc.
Entertainment: Movies+music+web. will be going for headphones so not much preference on speakers.
Basic word processing and coding.

A 14" or 15" system will do. No other constraints.

dell offers a choice of the mobile editions of 8600gt and 8400gs in india on select models....
.hp offers the 8400gs and so does lenovo again...on select models...

i think the 8600m gt will cross ur budget...then the 8400gs is ur best bet... anything oder than those crappy intel onboards...
 
Are Hp and lenovo models with 8400 GS available around 40K? I thought lenovo models are costly.. Can you please provide the model numbers with 8400 gs?

^^^ cool...the ones from oder brands usually come with a c2d 1.6 at this bracket...rember nutn beats a dell wen it comes price vs perfo...
 
Hi Guys,
I was interested in the vostro 1400 model which I mentiond in my earlier post because it stood well in price v/s performance(or config) list.
But today I saw two new models in the vostro series - 1310(13") and the 1510 (15"). I made a quick config with the 1510 which is given below. Also adding a couple of doubts associated with it.

Processor : C2D T5870 - 2.0Ghz, 2MB Cache, 800Mhz FSB
There is one more processor in the list T7250 which has the same features but is Rs. 3686/- extra!!! I am confused:huh: what is the difference between these two processors??
Monitor: 15" with resolution of 1440x900
Ram : 2gb
DVD drive: Slot loading
I know slot loading saves space. But does slot loading drives have any known issues?? Anyways I already planned to use dvd images while playing games.
Graphics card : 256MB Nvidia Geforece 8400Gs
Changing the graphics option from Intel's GMA X3100 to this reduced Rs.41/- in the price!! wonder why??:)

Price = Rs. 40.5 K including a mouse!!

So...Wat you say guys???
