Storage Solutions Suggestions needed for buying External HDD 1TB from US

I need to buy external HDD 1 TB.

Use-to store games/movies/songs.

My bro is going to buy it from US.

So any suggestions which one to go for?

I don't care much about performance so whichever is cheaper would go for it.

And it should be plug and play through usb no extra power supply required.
 
Western Digital and Seagate are two reliable brands.

If you pay a little more than the US price, you can buy the drive here in India AND get the 5 year local warranty.
 
the last time i checked on this - locally available for Rs.10750 and approx 179-200$ in the USA. Works out the same. besides the somewhat little cost difference locally you get 5 yrs of local warranty which u should definitely consider.

Get 500x2 locally (seagate yesterday price-4900). this way u can even have redundant backup if needed.
