Suggestions Needed to Finalize New Gaming PC @50k

I mainly need advice in choosing processor, graphics card and power supply
Q: What is your budget?
A: 50,000

Q: What is your existing hardware configuration?
A: Not worth mentioning

Q: Which hardware will you be keeping?
A: Actually the whole PC, I will keeping it as it is

Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy?
A:

1)Processor: Intel i5-2500, Intel i5-2400
when I saw the TE PC buying advice, for a mid end Gaming rig an i3 was suggested, isn't processor should be equally powerful as gfx card, please explain me

2)Ram:Actually bought Gskill Rip Jaws 4 GB(2 GB X2)

3)Graphic Card: AMD 6850
I am confused whether to buy MSI 6850 OC or Sapphire 6850, I know MSI one is better but its really hard to find around

4)Motherboard: Pretty decided on Intel DH67BL, but suggestions are open
I had question that, are solid caps important in a mobo

5)Power Supply: Please help me here, I can't decide how much watt is needed for my system

6)Monitor: Fixed on Dell U2311H

7)HDD: I am decided on 1 TB 7200rpm but just wanted to know whether running two 500 GB in raid would incre ase performance noticebly

Q: Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future?
A: Not so much except sound card, ram and may be HDD

Q: Where will you buy this hardware?
A: Except Graphics Card(will be bought online), everything will be bought from a local dealer

Q: Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market?
A: Yes if the product and deal is great

Q: What is your intended use for this PC?
A: Gaming, Medium CAD work, very heavy internet browsing, 24 hours powered on

Q: If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
A: Mostly games like NFS, Dirt, DMC, COD, DOTA, Assasain's Creed

Q: What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage?
A: Gaming: 1920X1080(FullHD) @ 2 or 4 AA
Normal Usage: 1920X1080(FullHD)

Q: Are you looking to overclock?
A: I would if my budget permitted, but for now I think NO

Q: Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
A: Windows XP 32-bit
Windows 7 64-bit
Linux Ubuntu

I hope members will help me decide to choose!!

Intel Core i5 2500 ~ 9800/-
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ ~ 1800/- [keep your CPU as cool as possible with this tower HSF package]
Intel DH67-BL ~ 5200/- [solid capacitors are a good addition to your motherboard as they have greater heat tolerance, but as you will not overclock and current generation components run cooler, they are not really a pre-requisite for a basic board]
MSi Twin Frozr GTX 560Ti OR Sapphire HD 6950 1GB ~ 13500/- [for CAD usage better is you get the nVidia graphics card]
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB ~ 2900/- OR 2 x 500GB ~ 3600/- [depending on which RAID setup you use you'll see better speeds {RAID 0} but at the cost of data redundancy, with RAID 1 you get better data redundancy {at the cost of speed of the set-up}]
Corsair V2 TX650 ~ 5200/-
Dell U2311H ~ 13800/-
NZXT Gamma + 2 x Cooler Master R4 120mm fans ~ 2100/- + 250/- [awesome airflow at the right price]
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit ~ 6500/- [it is woth buying the original copy, fewer head-aches and very stable performance] Windows 7, Microsoft Windows 7, Buy Windows 7 Online at Microsoft Store
For further information on the performance of components -- NZXT Gamma Review - Overclockers Club.
MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin FROZR II Review - Overclockers Club.

Hope this helps.

@ALPHA17: thanks for the reply

Actually I was also thinking of the same config you posted, but I was in for a shock when I checked the prices at local dealers, all the prices were around 1500-2000 rupees more than the online ones, so infact my 50k budget reduced to 40k, considering the online prices

Anyway again thanks for reply, I think I may for go 500 GB and later add another one for a RAID 0 setup

Now the real problem I am facing is finding MSI 6850 OC, I am ready to buy online but nobody has it in stock, so may have to go to mumbai to get it

If you want to enable RAID 0, it will be better if you buy the RAID array hard-drives right now [2 x 500GB OR 2 x 320GB]. http://www.primeabgb.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1520&category_id=70&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=9999

And get another hard-drive preferable 1TB [Data DUMP] so that incase your RAID array fails, you can have a backup on this DUMP disk.

Also Hitachi hard-drives are more reliable than their Seagate and Western Digital counterparts, so grab them if possible Prime ABGB has them in stock -- http://www.primeabgb.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=4028&category_id=382&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=9999.

Also a primer for RAID initiates; RAID 0 -- Striping, RAID 1 -- Mirroring http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID.

If you want to get an Intel original motherboard with all solid capacitors, get this -- http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=647&Itemid=69, just be wary of the fact that the onboard IGP of the processor will not run, also this motherboard supports over-clocking. And if this entices you to over-clock your processor, then get the Intel Core i5 2500k ~ 10800/-.

Hope this helps, Sire!

alpha has pretty much nailed it.will suggest you to get the gtx 560 ti as nvidia is definitely better in productivity and no real need of a cpu cooler if you are not going to over clock it.the intel cooler is good enough afaik.

@op what cabinet do you have? cause if its not worth mentioning, chances are that half of the gfx cards won't fit.

@gatekeeper: Yep I checked it, they have it in stock and ordered it

Very much thanks for the link

@ALPHA17:

I sent a mail to prime regarding its availability

I liked the motherboard, but the problem is finding them

Intel ones, except the DH67xx are hard to find around, moreover I have dropped the idea of overclocking since it would increase my budget as I will need custom cooler, more power supply etc

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

@vantheman5211: 560 ti is definitely better, but as I mentioned before it goes out of my budget, moreover I think I am more inclined towards gaming than CAD work so finally went for MSI 6850

About the cabinet, I am trying to save as much money as possible for main components

So I will get a simple 1500 RS cabinet of cooler master locally

Get nzxt gamma-2.1k don't compromise on cabinet otherwise thins will get congested in normal cabinet,if you buy gamma you can later add 6950 or buy an aftermarket cooler in it.

I am also now thinking of getting better cabinet now, but for some reasons I don't like the shape of the Gamma

What about this: Cooler Master Elite 343

Still no one has explained me why we need underpowered CPU for a gaming rig, please if anyone knows out there explain me

Still no one has explained me why we need underpowered CPU for a gaming rig, please if anyone knows out there explain me

Because games at High resolutions depend much on the gpu rather than the cpu !

Get the NZXT Gamma ~ 2100/- OR NZXT Source 210 ~ 1900/-, anything below this and you'll seriously compromise on the airflow of the system, all Cooler Master eLite series cabinets don't hold a candle to NZXT's budget offerings.

Also, the Core i3 2100 is a good gaming processor because of its architecture [Sandy-Bridge memory inter-connect + controller are superb] also the fact that most games don't tax quad-cores efficiently enough, a dual Core i3 2100 [dual core, Hyper Thread -- 4 threads] holds its own against a Core i7 980X [hex-core, HT -- 12 threads] on these grounds AnandTech - Bench - CPU ~ 10 - 15 fps increment for a hole of roughly Rs. 50000/- more for the set-up, but seeing as you'll be keeping the system for quite some time in the future, it is logical to purchase a quad-core.

If you getting AMD Radeon graphics grab the Sapphire HD 6870 ~ 11500/-, instead of the HD 6850 OR get the plain vanilla GeForce GTX 560 ~ 11500/-, get the best of both worlds productivity [thanks to nVidia bias in developers and CUDA] + gaming [it is basically a GTX 460 on a adrenaline high] -- http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Zotac-GeForce-GTX-560-Multiview-Video-Card-Review/1344.

Hope this helps, Sire, cheers!!

@ALPHA17: I was amazed to see the benchmarks but it happened in only one two benchmarks, but due to my CAD work and Internet browsing I preferred quad core.

I think 6850 is perfect for me because 6870 becomes expensive as the prices at local dealers is more than online prices, so my rig having 40k budget using online prices becomes of 50k when I purchase the same components from my local dealer

Finally decided to go for NZXT Source 210

Finally one question remains unanswered: How much watt SMPS I need for my system?

for future upgrades like gpu and if you are gonna overclock the cpu and gpu,to give a little head-space get seasonic s12ii 520w-3.6k.For i5[non oc]+hd 6850 you can stick with seasonic s12ii 430w psu-2.6k if your budget can't handle more than 3k.

Cooler master gx450w-3.3k or sylverstone strider st50f 500w-3k are great options.these mentioned psu's have 5 year warranty except silverstone st50f.

I think CPU overclocking is not possible in my case so I am gonna choose the 500 W Cooler Master or Seasonic SMPS

Thanks every body who helped with their advice and suggestions for my RIG

When I get it, will update my signature
