Im having the same problem as wraith.But IMO its not a DNS problem as i tried using FastCache DNS cacheing app and used DNS root servers instead of the ISP's (Iqara) DNS.
While using BitComet,im able to reach 25/25 KB/s U/L rate.
While browsing,the browser (primarily Opera 8.5,tried FF and IE too but same prob persist on all three) loads the page partially and then just sits there doing nothing.It doesn't download any data and even afer I refresh the page,the same thing happens.
I tried using CFos traffic shaping s/w and gave opera highest priority while BT the lowest.But it only showed a small improvement.
EDIT: Another thing is,even though no other background app is using the net,i never get speeds over 5-6KB/s while browsing normal webpages.
