Hi

TE is experiencing some heavy traffic at this moment which is causing the server to go down frequently. Kindly bear with us. We're looking for ways to solve the problem as soon as possible. Any inconvenience is regretted.

Yeah, that was quite a long downtime yesterday. Isn't the dedicated server providing enough resources ?

I guess the problem lies somewhere else. Our hosts are investigating the problem and hopefully, we'll soon be able to rectify the situation. :)
 
UPDATE:

we are still investigating this issue. Unfortunately both me and QF were not online when this happened and were busy yesterday so the downtime stretched a bit.

The cause... we have some clues but we will give a formal statement only when we are sure. Nothing is ruled out as of now.

I would just like to mention that we are investigating a possible case of DoS here.
 
Why wud someone DoS TE? We aren't that big. Or is it a (suspected) DoS against the host ISP or the forum s/w?

its just that as of now. We had a guy hogging up all BW and resources with active simulataneous sessions of TCp. I can't comment anything more at this stage.
 
This is horrible ! I mean firstly this is a free site, it gives knowledge and information to a million people FREE of charge, then why a Dos :huh: ?
 
Everyone doesn't think the same way as you... :(
BTW, I think I have a reason to believe this *S#$%^* guy might be behind this...

Is it possible for you to send the logs to me.I would love to have a peek-a-boo at them & provide information that I could make out of it.
Maybe I can be of some help :)

As you must have noted, TechEnclave has been down for the past few days.
We have been experiencing serious problems with our Domain Provider. Hence, TE was down for such a long time.
We really regret it and hope to make it up to you.

Kindly note: While some of you will be able to post without any glitch, there might be others who will get some DB errors. In such a case, donot try to post again and again. Please go back to the thread you were trying to post and refresh to check if your post has been displayed or not.
Also, we are still not certain if all posts will be retained or not. So, it is requested that you kindly keep a duplicate copy of what you have posted till further notice.

Ok we are back to normal now..
And hopefully this will not happen again. We have taken remedial measures to ensure that.
 
I do not have the slightest hint about DoS or what has been done:ashamed: but i know this for sure- TE Rocks!!:ohyeah:
It was a real pleasure to meet Great minds at the Mumbai meet!!:clap:
And since the meet, it was no less than sheer agony not to be on TE!!:(
Extremely glad to be back on TE!!:D
My hearfelt thanks to all the TE Admins, Mods and everyone behind TE!!:hap2:
