Cost of operating system extra, TE is against piracy.

Discuss CONS & PROs of above configs here, UR suggestions r welcome :)

Note : Prices may not be accurate, PC bazaar is like vegetable market, prices change w/o notice, also dealers r milking customers w/ simple $ rise reason, so be alert. Its just guide, dont take it as pricelist

kudos SidhuPunjab, you are one of the members who is keeping this post alive every month, keep it up mate :hap2:,repped u :D,your post is helping me lot when i have to suggest a config for my friends i just refer Te and tell them the same

^^i wonder y the amd proccies nt affected by dollar rates..:S...has to b everywer the same rite:S

p.s. m damn too sleepy pardon me if m mentioned some think inapplicable..zzzzzz

Very nice guide Sidhu! But I feel monitors are little neglected (just a little) area as most of the models are pretty old. so I would like to add a few points as far as 22" inchers are concerned.

1- Dell is overpriced. Way overpriced. Also, Ultra Sharp 22" is not available. Hell, even 22" with HDMI and webcam is no longer listed on Dell's India website (as on 30/10/2008).

2- L226wtq is not available and same is with Samsung 226bw.

3- In any case these, L226WTQ has been replaced by L227WT while 226BW has been replaced 226CW. In fact after panel lottery fiasco, Samsung has flooded the market with a lot of 22" monitor which are more or less same in performance and almost all of them are inferior to 226BW.

4- Right now the best bet in 22" monitors are VX2235 and VX2255 (but both are pretty old model and are set to be replaced by VX2262 which is not that good) from Viewsonic, L227TQ from LG if you can find it or L2252wtq or L226WU from LG (very recently launched to replace L227WT so not too sure about availability) and T220 from Samsung (high-end) or 2243 Samsung (mid-end).

If you have budget of around 15K, T220 seems to be pretty decent buy, though it has a horrible stand.

Hmm the HTPC rig already has a decent GPU onboard so a HD3450 might not be that much of an improvement.

Stellar stuff otherwise though.

+1 to what Morgoth has said Sidhu. :)

The compilation is near perfect. :D

EDIT:

1. Why's the TRUE Black featured in the 145k gaming rig?? :(

Its a complete waste of money. You end up paying close to twice the value of the Sunbeam CCF for almost no inc. in performance. Please remove that and let the CCF be in its place.

2. Why's the Antec 1200/CM HAF932 not featured in any high-end rigs?? I hope you know the Antec 1200 beats any Stackers price-wise and performance-wise for the 12k price. I could not find any flaws with regard to it. More or less the same with the CM HAF 932. The Cosmos S is a good enclosure if the rig's water-cooled not otherwise.

3. Couple of spell errs like Altech (Altec), Moniter (monitor). [Lets get professional. :p]

4. If possible include gaming mice from MS and Razer as well. :)

Nice guide there sidhupunjab :)

@Morgoth, True about the LCD part. I got a Viewsonic vx2255 for my friend 2 weeks back, have been searching for those models you have mentioned in your post for almost 3 weeks or so, but none were available :S, not even the vx2235. Many 22" were all with only Vga input. The only models available with digital input were Viewsonic vx2255 and Samsung T220. Viewsonic VX2255 was 14.5k btw.

Very nice guide.. Repped you.. Just a suggestion: Two 4850s in crossfire would outperform a GTX280 by quite a margin: Source

They would cost less too :eek:hyeah: Some of the money saved could go towards buying a crossfire mobo..

Nice guide and +1 to what people have said above
I searched for LG 226WTQ for around a month before buying Viewsonic 2235 and at that time T220 was for 16.5 K in Nehru Place.

So, how is VX2255 in actual usage. It used to cost 20K when it was launched. Now it is around 14K. I am going to get 22" monitor and it will be one of these:

T220 (most likely)
L227TQ
L226WU
VX2255
