So, if they dont post here and have registered because someone asked them to, then what is the use??

1219 members have not posted even once. almost half......
And we keep saying that it is the members who make up the forums. So, out of 3,000 if 1219 have not even posted and there are countless others who have just one post, then what pride is there in saying that we have 3000 members??

it feels good when a community grows and the number of registered members gives us the measure of growth. You're right in saying 1200+ members don post but the fact that they've registered here proves the fact that they found it worthwhile registering at TE for some reason or the other. As ren said, i know many members who don make a single post but they read the posts everyday. similarly, we also have members who just keep on making posts without reading any posts. (no offence to anyone)
i mean whats the harm in having members who don post? maybe they'll make their first post smday when they feel like it. its just the fact that they believe in us and registered at TE makes us feel proud. 3K members is no big deal. we still have a long long way to go. also, there are sites with 30k members but hardly 2-3k members visits regularly. thats pretty normal with forums and we shud be okay with it.

But then, we have had many new members who do contribute a lot. Not to mention the old "dons" of TE(the ones carried over from TE).
I seriously get frustrated when TE goes down. I cant live without TE.
