OC & Modding Testing AMD 965 BE + MSI GD70 on LN2

So got my hands on MSI GD70 which has been getting rave feedbacks from overclockers around the world alongwith a AMD 965 BE, all thanks to Mr. Saini from SMC International.

Decided to test them under LN2 and see what they can achieve, before that tested them on Air with CoolerMaster V10 cooler and was able to achieve 4.35Ghz, nothing much, and was not feeling properly prepared for going LN2 specially because this was my first AMD setup in the last 5 Years at the least. But what the heck.....

The first 20 minutes were the most productive, after which sadly my *Jugaad* mounting system gave away and broke, without proper pressure on the processor benching could not be continued, so there would be more to come hopefully, , for now just posting the money shot, :D

OMG :D Nice nice .. But the Volts applied are insanely high :O IINM some Ocers hit 6+ @ 1.7 :p

Yup very much possible, for that have to change some other volts/settings which will allow me to drop the cpu core volts, as I said this was done within the first 20 minutes which included some benches at 6.3Ghz, hopefully if I get to keep the setup for some more time and if I have money left in the last week of feb,, then for sure more benches and results will be inbound, :D

Wow! nice OC. insane volts, but many use that much to reach 6k+. Is the thermometer showing the correct temps? I'm wondering how a thermometer rated to operate only between -40 to 1000 degrees showing - 113 degrees.

and your point being?? that this is not 6k+??? :bleh: also most probes rated for --40 can do close to -100 to -140C. Probes rated for -150 C and above cost something like 200$

no, i was trying to convey that many chips need about 1.9v to reach 6k+ and yours was no exception, or at least the chip will need that much voltage without tweaking other settings

yeah they are damn expensive. So how much yours shows?

Oh ok, got your point, yup as such these chips need this much to reach 6Ghz and beyond, but there are other settings as well which when raised helps to take down the cpu vcore, though was not able to play with them this time, due to lack of benching time...

Not too sure since this was the first time I was using this probe, didnt see anything beyond -115C even on idle, so maybe thats the limit...
