Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

Good initiative.
My experience with Rahul/Itwares:-
I needed a PSU for my new GPU, PMed him regarding rates, told him my preferred payment method was via CC. decided to go with Tagan TGU37 500W as Corsair VX450 was out of stock. He put up an ebay listing on the same day, and i payed for the product. The item was shipped the next day itself, but i recieved it a day later due to some delay on the courier's side(DTDC). At the time of making this purchase i was in an area subject to octroi. Rahul pmed me to request an alternate address so that i could save some of "my" money, a nice gesture. I told him i don't mind the octroi. He took an extra step to package the product in a way that i woudn't have to pay octroi, and i didn't(would've come to 100-200 bucks or so max).

So there you have it, simple hassle-free description of a deal that fits one of the most reliable dealers on TE.
Looking to read some more interesting experiences.
Once again, my thanks to SoMxNemesis for creating this thread :)
Reps are disabled in this part of forum... :(

EDIT: Im wondering, this thread is to be used for listing down trade experiences as well right? And it includes positive as well as negative experiences?

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

hey,

Yeah it is for negative and positive trade experiences.. ( while im still a bit confused about the first suggested rule...ill talk to the mods about it and see if it can be more specific.)
:S
I normally see people flaming each other rather than helping out.. thus i put them up. :)

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

i have the experience of dealing only with mediahome and kmd as of now.

so far so good.

100% positive

no problems.

never dealt with any other dealer here in TE.

and one thing more: is it only about the registered dealers or the individual persons feedback as well.

pls clear!!

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

I think this should be limited to negative feedback else all the dealers wil pester/ bribe:P members to post good feedback here..

And we do have iTrader, then why exactly do we need this thread?

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

KMD: Good.

mediahome.in: Good.

Amarbir: Good.

Rahul @ The IT Wares: Good.

All of them have shipped the products on time minus the lack of communication that has resulted b/w either of the parties. :P

@Party Monger: perhaps a more comprehensive feedback on all of the dealers under a single shade?

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

Here goes, I've dealt with almost everyone, though have not transacted with all. Feedback here is for those I've traded with, not left feedback for any incomplete deals. I think that is fair.

Techshop.in: Need to watch the prices of what you buy and compare prices across a few sources. Extremely prompt service, and the fact they have a human being on the other end of the phone who has a clue of your orders really helps. As long as you're getting a good pricing deal, the experience is very good. After-sales service is excellent, when my cabinet landed up damaged it was picked up and delivered to and from my doorstep free of charge.

Products purchased: Antec Solo, Steelseries mousepads.

Lynx: Carries possibly the biggest inventory of all the dealers, and that is both the blessing and the curse. Not always is everything in stock, it has all to be back-checked with the distributor. Getting them on the phone is a problem at times, and the response to email is not always 100% prompt, so orders can take very long to complete (mine took over three months finally). But service is still above average, I've had him upgrade a purchase of mine when what I wanted was not available. Worth a look for his inventory alone, specially for a musician/audiophile/hobby electronics/computer enthusiast. His prices on the ADAM audio range, for example, is fantastic given the dollar prices, if he can hold those after talking to distributors.

Products purchased: 2 x WD640AAKS, a bunch of 92mm fans, some hobby electronics products, and a Radeon X1600 AGP card.

Phoenix: Excellent all around. Super prices, very good products, and outstanding service and customer care. Regular with his follow-up, and only needed to get around his exam timings. Keeps people informed of delays and problems, and mostly delivers on time. Very good support service even after purchase as well. Very selective inventory/offerings though, and I consider that a good thing as he is able to service those orders well.

Products purchased: Palit R700 Revolution Deluxe, Corsair Voyager Mini.

KMD: What to say about this guy. I've dealt with him 4 or 5 times, and every time the experience has been outstanding. The delivery is usually lightning-quick, the prices are (used to be) very good, and I've never had to use after-sales on him (thankfully, that be expen$$ive!!!). A very good option to get in things that you have to import.

Products purchased: ECS 9600GT, AC Freezer Pro, Vantec eSata dock, and a bunch of other stuff I don't really remember.

Those of you who know me well know that I'm not the world's best haggler (though I'm getting some good training from the masters). So my experience is not driven by who is cheaper by xxx, but by overall experience. One big example, for example, is that I don't shop at McCann because of their outright refusal to take any after-sales service headaches, and prefer paying (for example) someone else (no names) 100 bucks more if they make the after-sales experience smoother.

This thread is only for feedback on Registered dealers.

About limiting it to negative feedback alone, that seems preferable.. we'll give it a thought and see.

Purpose behind the thread is more of a pro-active approach towards issues with dealers rather than having individual flame-fest threads popping up.

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

multiple occasions, after following up on the phone multiple times with theitwares, they have managed to conveniently forget requests ( excuse: busy now or will do tomorrow, next week, a few days etc). could improve on punctuality and follow up.

after a week or so , gave up and ordered via Phoenix. quite happy with his service so far :)

bingo !!

exactly as i was thinkin.....

JUST POST ur Negative Feedbacks here...

then only this thread can have a meanin

Crazy

only a person who has purchased somethin from the dealer can say about his negative expirience here !

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

Mediahome: Good, no issues.
ITWares: Good, except that he completely forgot about my order until I reminded him about it 10 days later. No biggie though, as it wasn't a high priority item.

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

Actually i have a better idea, why not have separate thread for each dealer?

That will be like itrader but much more accessible..

Come on, give the members here more credit. You really think a pestering dealer, though im sure there will be none, will be enough to influence the feedback members give to the community for others benefit?

Not not just pestering but a good deal as a bribe might be motivation enough:P

As i have mentioned in the first post, it is with regard to the dealers in the Dealers paradise section. It refers only to Reg. Dealers on TE.

Good point, as Crazy_Eddy has answered that. ill leave it to them :)

There is no question of a bribe here :P, if they do get bribed.. well ... my question is.. Is it christmas already? :D

Again thats a good point. i'll try to mention it in the suggested rules section later tonight. :)

True, again let the moderators decide on that :)

Request to Mods: can this be made a sticky ?

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

itwares : felt very rude over the phone to me... still went ahead and got the stuff but never again

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

Hey, thanks for the input guys.. please fell free to put any suggestions forward from your side :) it would help improve this thread a lot.

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

bought a corsair xms2 ram from rahul@itwares deal went smooth ot my ram in a day there were no hassles at all :D

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

Rahul@Itwares:
I have got many stuffs from him,
always paid him through online transfer, no hassels as such.
all products were delivered on time, once CORSAIR PD delivery was delayed, BUT he had then asked me to wait, as products was out of stock(no problem for me).
reasonable shipping rate & also product rates.
G.SKILL RAM'S wen't Kaput, i just showed him screen shot of 'memtest' & then he gave me replacement for RAM within a week:hap2: .
so, good guy to deal with.

Mediahome:
Bought a product from him. deal went hassle free. shipping cost & product cost was good.
again, a very good dealer.

Re: The Dealer Feedback Thread

ITWares: Never Ordered.

PhoENiX: Good guy, Very helpful.. and gets good deals when you ask for one.

Mediahome.in: Never Ordered.

TheTechShop: Never Ordered.

KMD: Awesome guy, Very fast and very efficient, it would help if he had a website up though. Everything i ordered from him came in time, Absolutely No delays.

Amarbir: 1st Order, i got a WD6400AAKS that came in time and no issues so far.

2nd Order, I ordered a DELL 2409S For A Friend from him on 12 March 2009, He placed the order on time, but then apparently Dell had asked him to provide ID proof for AP customers, between this time the people who had ordered the monitors before and after us received it. 20 Days later, Amarbir calls my friend up asking him if he received it (:annoyed:), now the next day some guy(named balbir/balbinder ... not sure who) calls my friend up and tells him that he had deleted that mail sent from dell by mistake and that there was a communication gap between dell and Lynx. So again on April 1st my friend sends the id proof to him and finally after a lot of waiting and irritation my Friend received the monitor on monday the 13th of April.

My point here is that, if there was a mistake or communication gap, amarbir should have followed it up without us reminding him so many times, cause it was a rude awakening for us to see people who ordered after us getting a the monitor before us and then getting a call from him asking if we got the monitor...lol. Also 31 days is a very long waiting period for anyone. I feel i have justified my end by giving him a neutral rating based on this deal.

I really hope he improves his quality of service.

Cheers!
