2) Sony DRU800A DVD - RW Drive.

I use -
1) Windows XP Pro SP2.
2) Norton Systemworks 2005.
3) Microsoft Antispyware.
4) Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.
5) Ad-aware SE 1.06 Pro.
6) Spybot - Search & Destroy.

I full upgraded the definations of all of them and scanned my pc with all of them.

udit people can help you better if you post it in either troubleshooting sub-forum or the operating systems sub-forum, as this appears to be software problem...

Moved to troubleshooting.

Btw make sure you haven't turned off autoplay on your drives. XP behaves in this manner if autoplay is turned off.

yup blade_runner is right, just enable auto play, also try to leave the windows inbuilt cd-burning to on, dont disable it, reboot & check if it works...

I have enabled autoplay.

Upgraded Firmware.

But how to change the windows inbuilt cd-burning to on.

udit, it seems this is a common problem when autoplay is not properly enabled, make sure you set all to default ... right click ur cdrw, dvdrw check the auto play for different media, if not just enable prompt me for an action.

update - if nothing else works as a last resort, try uninstalling ur cd-dvd burning software(nero i hope), reboot, see if that helps, u can reinstall it back ofcourse :)

Reinstalled Windows XP SP2.
Installed Nero 7.

This happened after installing Tweak and Tune 1.0.1 so I uninstalled it.

Then cleaned the registry using Reg Cleaner.

there lies your problem using tweak & tune & then aggressively cleaning with reg cleaner

so try to restore the cleaned entires using ur reg cleaner, if not, all i can i say is reinstall your nero ....

something has messed up ur registry entries ....

p.s. - always be aware of registry cleaners, have backups....
