..and along came more!

In line with our endeavor to bring positive changes to TE we plan to bring back the MOTM. *applause* :clap:

We will have the following monthly awards from now on.

  • The Stalwart - Member of the month
  • The Author - Article of the month
  • The Dark Horse - Young member of the month
  • The Messenger - News poster of the month
*applause* :ohyeah:

Criteria
  • The Stalwart - Minimum 90 posts a month in tech sections (will be judged on quality of posts by the staff members)
    • Once selected the same member will not be eligible for the award for the next two months
  • The Author - There should be at least 10 articles submitted in a month by the TE member base.
    • If the number of articles submitted is less than 10 then the articles will get carried forward to the next month.
    • Will be judged on the quality, depth of coverage and presentation.
    • Need to PM me with the self nomination and link to the articles. Otherwise the article may get missed during selection.
    • Articles need to be TE exclusive for the duration they are being considered for the award. They cannot be posted anywhere else until the awards for the month are announced.
  • The Dark Horse - Will be awarded to the members who are less than 6 months old (forum age). They should have at least 90 posts a month in tech sections.
    • Once selected the same member will not be eligible for the award for the next two months
  • The Messenger - Should have posted five news threads a month in tech sections.
    • Mention your personal views and synopsis in own words along with the news source.
    • Will be judged on the activity in thread and uptake of discussion in the thread
    • Need to PM me with the self nomination and link to the news threads. Otherwise the threads may get missed during selection.

Recognition

  • Mention on the forum home page for all four
  • Mention on the TE portal for all four (if it is ever online).
  • The Stalwart - Gift card worth Rs. 1500 and a personalized token of appreciation
  • The Author - Gift card worth Rs. 2000
    • Article gets posted as a featured article on the portal (yes we are trying to get the portal functional soon :lol: )
  • The Dark Horse - Personalized gift worth Rs. 500
  • The Messenger - Gift card worth Rs. 1000

The bad news: We will start the evaluation from the month of May. However the articles posted in April will be eligible.

Disclaimer - As you can see this is a new initiative and will evolve over time, so will the conditions. Rest assured we will try to make it as process oriented and transparent as possible. So bear with us and do drop in your suggestions on how to improve this.

one suggestion - please give one award for reviewers also. it takes lots of hardwork to write a review.

yeah! they should definitely get some recognition from TE. Mods please give it a thought

See what I mean Rene ;). Portal system back in action. w00t. All we need to get is a jug of hot coffee for Safin till he implements it :bleh:. While we're at it, will the old portal hall of fame scores come back?

I have been observing you lately, why are you so obsessed with gannu? If you get so intimidated by your competitor before the fight even starts you may as well throw in the towels. Just saying. :)

I am so excited :D :D ! This should kill the lazy bum in me and I might as well get done with the long list of pending reviews in May .

BTW the minimum 10 articles a month part,isn't it too much ? I would suggest you guys keep it to ~4-5 if we are looking for quality stuff.
 
Yes it can be 10 members writing one article each or 20 members collaborating to write 10 articles in all. Or just one member writing all the ten articles. :)

We want to have quantity as well as quality to judge otherwise it gets boring for us too. :bleh:

And thanks for not allowing mods to participate in this :bleh: and what about CR ? Sorcy writes helluva reviews ;)
 
At last after 3 years now we will have some real appreciation.

But mods when are you gonna start the pic/gallery stuff? It will enhance te much more.

Yes you can submit. All articles written in April will be considered.

Staff cannot but CR can participate. :P

Pic gallery is like where members can upload pics of their gadgets and acquisitions and they can be accessed from their respective profile. Just like giving photo album feature for every member.
