Ok but what about 90 posts?? Are you sure?? :O

Spam will rise rather than quality posting. 90 threads(or do you really mean posts) in a month??

Sorry didn't got the carry forward thing, if it's going to be carry forward then how come 90 posts in a months??

^no mate 90 post excluding spam, because current mods are very active these days, they acts very fast :)

What if I post the article/review here and ALSO on my own personal blog? Does it get disqualified then?

Articles need to be TE exclusive at least for the duration it is being considered for the award. So, the answer to your query will be no, you cannot post it in your blog simultaneously, and yes, it will be disqualified if done so.

EDIT: Updated the first post with the information.

Now this sound exciting, but I hope that 90 posts/month requirement doesn't deteriorate the quality of posts that TE has maintained over the years. I'm more as a lurker and posts only where necessary and only where I feel that I can contribute to the topic..

Anyways, I guess my Android Phone Buying Guide Thread qualifies. :P I'm writing one more guide.. Should be up by some weeks. TE exclusive. :P

Sorcerer-o-Sorcerer. I guess, he is ruled out now. Now all of us has some chance. Cant beat his excellent reviews otherwise. :P

Speaking about "Tech sections", which sections qualify for being a "tech-section" ? Does "buying-advice" qualify ?

Nah. Even if such rule weren't there I wouldn't participate so that it will motivate/force some "lazy" people *hint*hint*. I help more than 1 forum and alot of people so that's how I see things. The contest is more for "seasonal" reviewers. I am not the only contibutor who sees this way.

Just an advice for people who get media samples: Few peripheral (I think audio mostly BUT you'll never know) manufacturer folks are scouting for regular members who know what they are saying (or appear to do so :p). They bank on your "excitement" to write something good about in exchange for some freebies. While its fine to appreciate that they have sent you something for free and stuff, its as good as payola when you're writing a review to please them. 1 News channel and 1 magazine does that in India. Make sure this forum doesn't go in that list. I am in touch with a lot of people, so once I found out that someone is doing such things for certain people I am not going to hesistate to put that person's name in public.

But if someone requires minor assistance/2 cents, they can ping me. But if someone has an intention to ping me to get a review sample: Sorry, you're on your own.

+1 to that but sooner or later you will need more people on board to get all the stuffs reviewed in time that you receive from the manufacturers :)

Also one more point is I have seldom seen 1-starred/2-starred reviews in tech sites. Most of the Indian tech Reviewers (same goes for the auto industry reviewers as well) have just started out and hence as such wont like to gain the wrath of the manufacturers right in the start. You have got a great start and can afford to do totally unbiased reviews but I pity for the guys who just starts out and its difficult to put a -ve review right from the start. leave alone keeping the sample...even giving a -ve review might jeopardize his chances to get any more samples in future !

Yeah plans are there but a long way to go for that.

I try my best, that's all there is. Guys like you and I are blessed with good friends and lucky to have regular contact with few well-known members. Even if I go out of the way eventually I will be brought back. Being for sometime with Harshal taught me a lot of things, being with bikey for some years taught me a lot and I am sure I still would have been an uber n00b. I refer to Eazy and Deejay's old posts in TE on a regular basis. Few journalists and also Anand Shimpi via FB gave me few tips that went a really long way. Being in few meets when some individuals making rare appearence helps. Its all good man ;). Only in Techenclave you will see individuals shining out in their own right. Heck TE "gave birth" to another forum irrespective of what one will say. :P.

As far as my experience goes, almost all Tier 1 guys in India are open to constructive feedbacks as long as its backed up with facts. Rest of the things can be handled easily. Having few personal ground rules from Day 1 helps.

Yes Buying Advice qualifies.

Everything - except Site Announcements, sub-forums under Trade Zone, The Lounge - qualify as Tech sections.
