Only pics do the talking.

Probably first local purchase G0 Q6600s in India :p

The last pic is to prove its local purchase lol........

Ever since I started to dream Penryn, Kentsfields dont excite me...

But thats still months away, which makes this a good buy if you actually need this perfomance now...So Congo mongo to you...:p

Dont worry when Penryn comes we will see that too here ;)

My 6750 is going back to the dealer.

He accepted it back and swapped it for this quad as i did not open it..

Penryn will still take 4 months or so to get here. In those 4 months, there will be lot of work done by these quads @ oced speeds. Now waiting for boards to arrive.

Funky now that I have your attention (do i?) :p Will the chieftec be able to house a 8800GTS and a Corsair HX620..without getting too hot?

Depends, if u maintain the proper airflow inside the chieftec it should do just fine.
I dont like the 92 mm fan arrangement of chieftec. But if you get 2 side 92mm fans blowing in and a good 120mm fan at back then it should be ok.

Yes, and thats the reason this quad is here. Atleast in my case.

My matlab simulations are happy with my laptop power :p

The most important thing was the price. Its not too expensive. Thats the reason I jumped for it.

Wouldn't quads give performance increase in games? Just wondering.

Anyways, congrats Funky, great buy. :)

If you're going to be OC'ing it, are you using air cooling or water cooling?

Air only.
I am done with water for now. Its just too much work :p

Will be put under Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.

As of now, there are no games to take advantage of quad core. Hardly any game takes full advantage of even dual core CPU.
Crysis and U3 might change that but thats still some time away.

Not right now, however, the direction game devs appear to be heading in is using one of the available CPU cores for physics - which means a dedicated physics processor on the GPU, or a dedicated GPU for physics, will not be required. It's a cheaper and more practical solution if they can get it to work. This will put AGEIA out of business though ;)
