The gameplay footage shown at E3 2011 was very impressive which is more than a reason for all of us to get excited.

Your goal is to find Elizabeth, a young woman who's gone missing and return her unharmed. The only problem is that she's being kept on this flying city. Columbia was once a symbol of America's success as a nation, floating around the world as a traveling World's Fair, a marvel of human innovation. But strange things have happened since Columbia's unveiling in 1900, and now the city has disappeared into the clouds. DeWitt knows how to find it, but over the years stories have been told about Columbia having unlawful heavy armament and deranged citizenry. Do not expect this to be a pleasure cruise.
Why you should be excited? : Bioshock was a groundbreaking game for many reasons. It introduced a world where no game had gone before. It also had great graphics and many innovative ideas to keep the game fresh for a long time. Bioshock 2 although a good game in its own right, was more of the same. But Bioshock Infinite aims to change everything once again with a world which is bizarre and fresh at the same time. If it proves to be as good as its prequels, we will have a game of the year contender for next year.

Why you should be excited? : Metro 2033 was a great game setting new benchmarks in graphics. The dark and bleak atmosphere of the game was appreciated and enjoyed by everyone who played the game. The sequel, Metro Last Light looks every bit as dark as the original and if the gameplay footage is any indication, it would set new benchmarks for graphics again. Reason enough to be excited.
