Of late the people posting in the torrent invition thread have all been newbies whose only post is in that thread. If you search on google for the words "torrent invitation" the first result is that thread. A lot of people are signing up simply for the invite. Imo this isnt a good thing and should be stopped. Could something be done like to restrict the thread to members who have > 50 or 100 posts or somrthing?

This was Posted after I wrote a Lengthy Post to Mods explaning the Miss-use of the Torrent invitation Thread ! And This was Posted in the Torrent Invitation Thread itself - Page 12

So just to recap :
So the Debate is about 2 Major points :
1. First-time Users & Post counts -
As Renegade said to give invites to a person or not is solely your decision, there is no hard & fast rule which says don't invite first time posters or vice versa.
We will not make a Rule saying you need certain no of posts for a invite, that would lead to peeps spamming all over the forum to raise their post counts.
So use your wisdom. Let this argument end here on whether first time users should be invited etc, if you want to invite - then go ahead and invite, the decision is yours to make but do not ask anyone to increase their post counts to get invites as we don't want other sections of TE to be spammed for sake of post counts.
2. Closure of thread -
We did not implement a master plan by which we wanted to create traffic for invitations, it just happened. We cannot blame google for putting this thread right on top when it comes to words "Torrents" "India" "Invites".
Remember any traffic to TE is good, i agree that not many are going to stick by after getting a invite, but at the least the message that TE exists is getting around. So don't ask for closure of this thread. We will not force our members to give invites nor we would entertain requests of thread closure.
