I will always suggest to go with generic. A generic RO purifier worth 5~6k will do the job as >10k ones. From my personal experience, the branded or costlier ones aren't that ground breaking to justify the big difference in cost. The only parts that aren't replaced after a year is the pump, solenoid valve and float. You'll be replacing the membrane and other filters in 12~18months. I use a generic one and maintain it myself.
