For past few months I have not been able to sign-in to Google Talk Labs Edition. It used to work long back but right now it just keeps trying to log in.

Anyone else facing this issue? Any resolution for this?

I read somewhere that we have to move it to some other directory but I could not find those exact directories on the OS. I am on Windows 7

What is google thinking. What kind of chat client does not offer group chat or conference. Labs was a good option for that.

Any other good client which offers group chat with gtalk account?

AFAIK, you can add people to the chat in the gmail chatting windows too.

Before the chrome gtalk app/extension used to work for me fine, even though it was meant for chromebooks. Now it does not work.

A few months ago, Google withdrew support from all of their lab products. Try visiting the Google SMS Channel. Its a mess.

I think everyone saw this coming as all the updates were being targeted to the web gtalk client. I think google is focusing all their attention to web apps to optimize the experience on chrome books. #Renegade, I think a few multi-messenger clients will suffice your needs.

you can try digsby as a client for gmail chat.. have used it for group chats.

I downloaded Digsby yesterday but forgot to install. Looks like a good messenger from the screenshots. Will use it with the google two factor authentication though. Am a little paranoid about third party apps.
