I have Toshiba m900 and using windows 7.
Drive reads Cds and Dvds quite well... but today i tried writing a dvd, and dvd went unrecognized in the software (i used magic iso).
i used other softwares also.. again same problem..they were giving error as "no disk in"

i tried power iso it gave me error "power caliberation area error"

what to do??

please help..:(

Try the following in order .After each step check to see if it burns correctly .

> Try using a different brand of disc .say for example a Sony DVD

> Try burning at lower speeds .

> Uninstall all burning software and reinstall Nero or ImgBurn

> Update the firmware of your DVD writer

> Go to Control Panel > Administrative tools >services . Browse for "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service", Right-click on it and select properties.
Change Startup Type to Disabled.Click Apply and Reboot system.
If the above doesnt work there can be only 2 other possibilities

-> Your laser head is caked with dust

-> Your Writer is about to expire .

Note: A DVD writer fails in phases . It may first stop burning and then stop reading .
