Update to 3.0 and controller stopped working

Hi all,

Recently bought a new controller here in Mumbai (model number CECHZC2H). It has a black mold, NOT a white one. Seems pretty original.

It was working fine till I updated the system the latest software. Now, led's 1 & 2 are constantly ON. I've tried everything from resetting the controller, the system (plugged in and out either way doesnt help)

Need to know whether the controller I bought is indeed fake, so that i can return it or its just a software issue that SONY needs to fix.

Running 3.01 here without a fuss on the phat one.

Firmware 3.0 + the CECHZC2H based controllers does have issues it appears! A quick search on Google yields these results.

Try updating the firmware to 3.01 and post back.
 
Does your default controller (the one that came with your PS3) have the same problem post update?

Can you try the controller at a friend's place? Try and isolate the issue here.
 
Update to 3.01 it fixes the issue, also are u sure the controller is an original one....cause fake controller are also known to have this problem!!

UB: Updated to 3.01, still unusable.
