CPU/Mobo Upgrading Asus Revo R3600

I am currently having Asus R3600 which comes with atom processor. Currently this desktop is used by my mother for just for browsing, checking emails and attending skype/google hangout video calls.

Seems like the unit cannot take this amount of load and it hangs quite often.

Can I upgreade my CPU/Motherboard with some other micro ATX boards? The desktop will be used only by my mother and hence I do not want a super power CPU's.

Please suggest a processor/motherboard which suits the above mentioned usage.
 
Checkout Gigabyte GA-C1037UN. Its built on dual core Celeron. I have tested it for general day to day use and found it satisfactory, credits to Vivek.

You also need to buy a stick of RAM as your current machine supports DDR2 RAM.

Also if comfortable with tablet, I would suggest to get one, specifically Nexus 7 1st gen.
