Why are you giving similar specs to 2 people and publicising some shopkeeper?

Don't go for Amd + Ati for video editing...
I myself do video editing...Best combo is to go for an i5 + nvidia card with good cuda cores(helps in 3D rendering in after effects)

nishthecooldude, Thank you for your suggestion, I would be very interested to know your PC specifications.

I have always used an Intel processor on all my past PCs, however this time wanted to see how a powerful AMD processor works for the job I'm looking for. Won't an AMD fx series (with 8 cores) processor be equally fast and stable for rendering videos at 720/1080 settings? Not to mention the price range they are available at, compared to an equally spec'ed Intel processor AMD seems like an absolute bang for the buck.

Intel Core i5 4460 -11000,
Gigabyte H81M-S2PV -4000,
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz -6000,
Zotac GTX650Ti Synergy Edition 2GB -10500,
Corsair CX500 -3500.
TOTAL -35,000.

Thanks for the config @bssunil,

Would it make more sense if instead of building a new rig altogether, I buy an i5/i7 based on LGA1155? That way I can keep my current motherboard and would rather be able to invest in a better GPU/RAM

Please advise!
