Monitors Upgrading to LCD - pls suggest ?

upgrading from the 8 years old samsung crt to a 20 Inch lcd. Now i wish to add a Tv tuner card.what's the benefit with an external tuner card never saw them before!please suggest samsung or Lg monitors due to the availability of service centres.My max budget for the monitor is 8k.Thanks

I will advise you to buy the 16:10 a/r monitor instead of those 16:9 ones as they are good for movie viewing only and we dont get our tv channels in wide screen, pls correct me if i am wrong.

Buy the one that i have, Dell E1909W: total satisfaction for the price and dont worry about their service they will come at your home only :D I am also looking foward to adding an internal tv tuner card very soon.

go for DELL U2410 LCD its 24 inches n give best quality in watching muvies !!!!

thanks for the suggestions.am not sure about the aspect ratio so u say the channels will appear distorted?

ya ur rite thatour tv channels are in 4:3 ar but 16:10 is also wide screen resolution(just a littl less wider than 16:9) so there wont be problem with 16:9 ar.....and most lcd tvs are in 16:9 aspect ratio(after all a tv would b used to watch tv channels mostly thats obvious...)

they will look alike on both typeof display..... theywill b streched to fit the screen

just get a 20" display like Samsung 2033SW. For TV Tuner card, get Winfast Palmtop TV 2. This card support higher resolution. There will be loss in quality if you buy low quality cards like those from tech-com and intex.

There is a BENQ LCD with inbuilt TV tuner CARD.

Costs some 13-14k , but it is perfect for you need. Comes bundled with speakers as well.

Go for it :D
