Hi guys,

I have a pro view UPS ( 700 VA) . The problem is i dont have a software that can shut down my system properly when the UPS backup is at its minimal. In fact the software which they pointed out in the manual to download doesnt exist now.

Can someone point out a good and easy to configure UPS s/w that i can use for my system.
Thanks
Dhiraj

XP has this feature built in ... it is under control panel / power options .... you can set the timings here. BUT the UPS has to be recognised by XP for the options to show up - this normally happens if the UPS has a link to the computer via a USB cable.

My APC is recognised and I have set my preferences in this feature. I used the APC PowerCHute software earlier but now I dont bother with that I just use the XP's built in feature.

My UPS doesnt connect through USB port. The power cord of my pc goes to the UPS so its not recognised by XP.

Is there a separate cord available like USB to UPS?

Does your UPS have a USB or Serial port ? If not then I cannot see anyway the UPS can send signals to Windows.
