Was shock to learn some findings hence the thread.
Dont know how many of you are aware of this shocking fact.

---I wanted to know about the voltage passing from UPS on battery mode hence the test---

In a basic 3-Pin Wall Socket, the big hole is for Earthing/Ground,
The other small is for Live,
The last small ones for Neutral.

Using a Tester when you check the voltage, normally only the Live socket hole shall denote voltage & hence glow the tester light.
While the Neutral & Earth shouldn't glow any light on tester (If there isnt any earthing issues at your place)

----TEST:
Yesterday I checked the same on my UPS using a 3 pin plug and was shocked to find that both the Neutral and Live are passing voltage to computer.:wtf:

This shouldnt be the case right???

To cross verify, checked on a friends Microtek UPS and the results were same.

The time since I'm using UPS, I found that my 2 HDDs have started generating weak sectors. It may be coincidence but I dont know.:doctor: :depressed:

----What about SMPS/PSU role here??

Doest it helps stop or tackle this damage?
Does it actually protects motherboard and attached peripherals by regulating such wrong voltage from UPS?

If it doesnt then may be our UPS are harming our computers than doing any good.

I'm not an expert at Electronics but this is really unusual and shouldn't happen.

Some Electrical experts here can shed clear light on this.:wideyed:
