Urgent advice needed! ( DELL vs HP) Please reply!

Hi, I am looking for a new laptop.... shortlisted 2 models based on my requirements (no gaming, only for pdf creating, editing and ms word).

Both models have 500 gb hdd , 4 gb ddr3, 14.0 " screens, intel graphics and 1 yr accidental cover.

DELL VOSTRO 3450: INR 34,000 LOCALLY
PROS:
Fingerprint reader
anti glare screen (preferred)
usb 3.0
metallic finish
CONS:
i3 snb
dos

HP G4 1201TU: INR 34506 FLIPKART
PROS:
i5 snb
genuine windows home basic
CONS:
glary screen
no fingerprint reader (doesnt matter much)

My questions:

1. Please suggest which one of these is better?

2. Will the dell warranty be valid if the dealer installs non genuine windows 7?

From specs alone, G4 looks better. But then, I suppose Vostro has better build quality and Dell service is better than HPs. But not sure about your second query.

I don't think you should buy any of these laptops. As for performing basic stuff like for creating pdf, editing and MS Word, an Intel Atom processor based netbook is more than sufficient. You will get a netbook at less than half of the price of these laptops. I am telling you this from my experience. I have been a satisfied customer of an Intel Atom based netbook.
