I have the dell u2410. My usage is watching movies and a bit of photoshop etc. I think its the best monitor by far for this purpose. As buBleZ mentioned, you need an IPS panel monitor for high end photgraphy etc.
However, you also plan to game a reasonable amount and the flipside to IPS monitors is their slower response times. If the games you play are not ones that require crazy frame rates, than the 2410 is by far the best monitor you can buy under 30000.
Else you have to make a call, go for a TN monitor and invest in a good calibration kit so that you can use it for photography etc. If you do go for a TN based monitor, try to get an LED backlit one as that would serve your imaging needs better.
