Hello Team :)

I am back again. Need some fast suggestions.

I wanted to buy mother board , Processor and 1 GB Ram For Office Use. My old PC had problem with processor so i have to replace few stuff. I was using AMD XP 3000+

My Budget is under 8k with1 GB RAM / M.Board / Processor.

It is for basic use. Microsoft Office / Accounting software etc.

I am open to any suggestions. I even don't mind going with AMD also.

Edited I think i want to go with AMD it will be cheaper too. so please guide me.

So please provide me details to choose the right one.

Thanks :)

For your purpose, the config i suggested is more than enough. Its a overkill going for higher procs/MOBO.
Save the extra money and buy something else like a USB-HDD :)

Try the Asus M2N-Dvi or M2n-HDMI.. both are robust mobos with the nvidia 630a chipset and a VERY good graphics solution on board (pv 7050 chipset).

i have a 4200+ with 2gb ddr2 and m2n-dvi, all purchased for 7500..

you are right. but the reason behind choosing fast processor is to use this computer for at least 3 or 4 years without any update :)

Thanks Buddy!
i checked the price. i think is it 1k extra. and i am not going to use that system for any graphic use. so will try to save with other motherboard. And i already have Geforce 128MB graphic card on old system which i will use here.

any idea about MSI?

MSI K9AGM4 Motherboard = 2575 Rs

MSI K9MMV Mother Board = 2000 Rs

is it good? does above mother boards have dot matrix printer port? LTP port?

The Nvidia chipset doesn't stadn a chance against the 690g from DAMMIT.

Get the X2 4600+ for Rs3100

Jetway 690g for ~Rs2.5k

1GB DDR2 for <1k

if possible get 2GB ram, if budget is a constraint opt for a compartively slower proc like the 4200+ and put that extra money on the ram cause for office apps and normal usage the 2GB ram will make its presence felt rather than the extra procc speed.

great tip :)

Does JetWay 690G have LTP port for dot matrix printer?
i am not able to find.
see this: AM2-690G Spec

i have only 2 option

MSI K9N6SGM or Asus M2N-MX SE PLUS

But i am planing to go with MSI K9N6SGM

i hope it's good

believe me..

MSI boards are rock solid! And I'd recommend you to get a board with the AMD 690G(or 690v w/o HDMI) chipset over ones with the nvidia chipset..

Stay away from Jetway boards..

X2 4000+ or the likes more than enough for most general stuff- esp what you said. :cool2:
Save the money and buy 2x1GB DDR2 800- Will help a lot when you move to Vista- which all have to one fine day. :)

jetway asus means RASHI~problem.........MSI boards are great...go for it:D
Have you used msi in recent times and tried getting one rmaed?? :P

I am yet to see an issue crop up on the OCed Jetway+X2 4000+ rigs my friends are using since past 1 yr odd- touchwood. :)
But make sure it is the 692GDG ith 690G chipset- the cheaper 690V based one one is pure crap. :P
Just make sure you have a decent psu like a powersafe 400W or something similar or better- though the above combo runs fairly ok even on iballs/mercury/intex 400W etc- till the psu goes boom. :P

guys i got

MSI K9N6SGM

AMD X2 - 4600+

2 GB RAM

Thanks everyone for great suggestions.

BTW my motherboard comes with LTP port.
