I was checking the index of TE when at the bottom part where all the active usernames are displayed, i saw that one of the users has a stike over his name, which AFAIK means he is banned. But if the user is banned then how can he be online ???
I checked the profile and there it is showing as Banned.

The user in question is : RenderWare

^ Nope he can't browse either.

He was banned while he was online, hence his name showed up in the online user list.

In any case if a banned user logs in, he will show up in the online user list.. however he will not see anything other than a message stating he has been banned.

Time of post in your sale thread : 2:45 PM

Time of ban : 3:17 PM

vBulletin doesn't see into the future as yet , sorry :bleh:

"RenderWare" pmed asking for my number, without even finalizing or mentioning details of the deal,Then i realized his name was striked.

Offlate there has been an increase in members with <30 post coming up and asking details for trade threads.

It is kind of spooky when people ask you for cell numbers (at 12 am) or to turn up at metro stations LET ALONE ANNOYING when they crap threads.

I guess if members with <100 post are completely prohibited from entering into members market section,Unless some senior member (more than say 200 post ) vouches for them or something , wouldn't it be more secure ,just a suggestion . :)

^ He hasn't been banned for any suspicious activity. Rather he's been infracted (twice - which led to an auto ban) for unnecessarily bumping someone else's threads in the market.

That is a bad idea because these guys will start spamming in everyone else's thread to increase post count.

I suggest that these guys are reported to the mods and they are given a warning or a ban depending on the severity of problem caused by them. Also the other users who visit an user's profile can see the warnings that he/she has received.

This way we create an unbiased system for all new and old users.

^I Guess your right in a way :), just dropped in a suggestion .

^^I guess i do get spooked easily,Though i found his behavior slightly suspicious since he just had about 41 post at that time.

Why was rockfella banned this time?

^ Infraction for spamming (again!). He accumulated enough points for the system to auto ban him (again!).

Honestly, if one really feels the need to spam - there's always the test drive zone, and to a certain level, the General Talk zone as well.

^^

How do we 'see' if someone is banned. Apart from browsing the member index, which is far to cumbersome..?

Wasn't broadway banned? I remember some members mentioning that.

He was running around with an alternate id which I reported earlier based on my and some others members suspicions and the same was banned. Now he is back with his original id. Is it a temp ban or did he just use an alternate id just to post in the Aussies thread without risking a ban of of their original id.

Yep he was temp banned due to an infraction and created an alt. ID. The infraction expired, and his original account is active again.

Thanks for notifying us about the alternate ID. We strictly do not allow alternate IDs.
