Not sure if this has been discussed before (delete if it has been), but I'd like to suggest moving the user CP to lower bottom of screen. Also provide options such as auto-hide or show always.

Whenever a notification pops-up one has to scroll to the very top. Other than that, activities like changing update, signout etc. will be easily accessible at all time irrespective of the position in a page.

Whats wrong with the upper bottom of the screen?

Anyway, are you saying that it should be fixed to the browser bottom so that it is always on the screen?

If its at bottom low, one has to scroll all the way to the very down to see!

I guess its fine at top, because as a page opens, the user first sees the notification, which are supposed to be at first glance, not searching all the way to down or wherever.

#Renegade sorry it was a typo. I meant bottom of the browser (Just above the windows taskbar).

Suppose you are reading a long thread and you are at the bottom-most post. You have to scroll all the way to the top to access things like notification, messages etc. It becomes a chore every time and I think having a fixed CP (with option of hiding it) is a good solution.

I have seen this implementation on other forums/websites but unfortunately cannot think of any name at the top of my head. Other members might provide a few examples for the same.

It doesn't have to be fixed at the bottom. It can be floating. Something like Facebooks chat implementation. I don't know if its doable but it can be a nice enhancement. I will post some links once I search a bit

Floating UserCP...hmm. can be thought of. I can understand what are you trying to say, lets see if mods can

I like the current look.

#aproxymate, about your long thread problem, just go to the top, by pressing the home key on the keyboard.

The Home button works just fine but if you have the CP in front of you, you can immediately see any notifications as they occur rather than checking every time. I am not sure if there is a sound for notifications as I use my pc in at office.
