I got the Vantec Doc in which i have put a WD Green 1tb Drive. Now when i connect this setup to my PC(XP) or Lappy(Vista) it tries to install the drivers for it but ends up showing the same message that its unable to install the Drivers/Some error in installing the drivers. Consequently i am unable to see the Drive in Disk Management.
Did anyone else face this Problem? the WD Drive is a brand new one so i havent cheked it seperately(Under the assumption that it works) ..
Will check the Drive too but just wanted to see if any1 else is facing the same problem.
(P.S.- I dont have other SATA Drives to check wether the Dock works or not)

using the same combo since day one i have no issues. using on dell studio 15 with vista home premium. just plug and play via esata. not sure what the problem is. i tried with usb too and it works well. touch the drive to see if it even powers up firstly. in this u have to fit it right. a lil error and it simply does not read the drive itself. remove and install a few times it should work.

Try to get the drivers from the CD if you have got any. If not go to the vantec site and see if they have got any kind of drivers. You havent mentioned if you are using esata or USB.

I am using the Dock through USB connection .. The Drivers on the site as well as the CD contain only the drivers for Win 98 .. I tried pushing down the Drive n all .. Even the current is coming but it isnt able to install it .

You don't need drivers in WIN XP and above. Try using a different USB cable. Also, connect the dock to PC first (without the HDD) and let it detected by the PC - when the detection is complete put the HDD into it.
