Very Low Download Speed on BSNL 2Mbps broadband, Plz Help! it says line speed 6142Kb?

Hi everyone
i got the Bsnl connection last month but not one day i've got download speed anywhere near 250Kbps .. the Max i got was 173Kbps and that was for 2-5 mins

What's Wrong ?? on the router Setup Page, it's a whole Diff Story:

Iv'e also got bsnl IPTV.. Did that messed up my Download rate??

when using torrents, i get:
Bitlord
download rate 50/60 Kbps Upload 78/94 Kbps
if i set upload limit to 60Kbps
then Download 70/90Kbps Upload 60 Kbps
Plz help. i get up everyday at 5am to download games but Crysis Warhead downloaded in about 10-12 Days .. it;s just 6 Gb

well ...if its torrent... it depends upon the seed/peer/leech factor and from where ur getting the torrent.

try ww.speedtest.net or download anything from download.com using IDM.

i get torrents from mininova.org or btjunkie depending on who has more seeds/less leechers
It's not just 1 file.. i tried Quake4. Cod4 same result

I'd hav been more than Happpy if i atleast got 150+ Kbps
Plz help if i can Tweak/Optimize my connection some way..
 
Your line attenuation is very high, change your ADSL splitter and check line for dry joints.

In case of no, try another modem, nothing else seems wrong .
 
Hi..I am just inquiring..
My line attenuation is around 47-52 for downstream and still I am able to get constant 180 - 200 KBps.
I thought attenuation upto 50 is OK. This is same in both ADSL2+ and G.DMT Modes.
 
I too started having the same problem since yesterday. Will try changeing the modem tonight. Don't have a spare splitter :@
