Very Low torrent speeds

I am getting very pathetic speeds on torrents, especially public trackers. I downloaded a torrent from mininova and then used the following site to find alternate (and as many as possible) trackers for the same.

After that i got as many as 23 - 24 trackers but the speeds i am getting are like 5kBps to 40kBps. I am on 2 Mbps line then too so low speeds. Seeds are also in good number (connected to more than 70 seeds). :mad:

I downloaded a couple of things from desitorrents and speeds are very good there in range of 150kBps+. I know this is a private tracker but still why the speed is so pathetic on public trackers. utorrents is also running fine and i am getting the GREEN TICK below. :huh: :huh:
 
I am having same problem especially with mininova.Iam on BSNL512kbps.In Desitorrents i get 60kbps but in mininova i am getting 5KBps wonder why:S
 
try downloading openoffice from their main site to check your speeds...If you can max your connection, then there is no problem as such with your connection/configuration.

The test was sucessfull .There was nothing which said there was some thing wrong in the connection

Cant apply the patch as i have vista 64 bit.I have set the net.max.halfopen to 80

Its perfect but if any torrent downloaded from mininova s***s big time,last night i started some torrent got speed of 3 kBps :mad: :mad: .
 
Thats what i am saying...direct downloads or private servers are giving full speeds of 180kBps+ while this mininova etc are pathetic.
 
@madmaniac: if it was the isp then why private trackers like bwt , dt , ipt has good speeds , also why direct downloads with IDM shows good speeds.

the problem is only with the public trackers like mini nova, pirate bay etc...
 
atm im getting 3-4 Kb/s on demonoid. 12 seeds n 7 peers.. im on a 512 connection. bit-hdtv etc are giving me full speed.
 
Ohhh Sh!t i am not able to download torrents at all,checked just now.None are working.I tried downloading thru rapidshare i am getting 60+ but torrents :mad:.Some one please help
 
Folks still facing the same problem.I took my lappy to "Chaos" place and had same issue( he has Photon+).I mean with all private trackers i get good speeds but mininova,piratebay and demonoid s**k .I tried a torrent from Mininova which had about 1700 Seeds but doesnt start at all.I felt it was OS issue and check on windows 7 ,had same problem.What do i do.:S :S.

May be the piratebay tracker is down(widely used by mininova and other public torrent sites)

Also make sure the torrent you are selecting has DHT enabled(even in public torrent you might find some torrents with DHT disabled)with atleast 5 seeders

(On side not start using Peerguardian for better protection against fake trackers, spyware and malicious ones)
