Seeing some very old posts - around 6 months to a year old being raked up from the attics.

Can u guys close a post after some time of inactivity - like 3 months so that they are not bumped up by some neewbie or people searching for threads? i know ppl like to comment in posts but bumping year old posts is too much!:@

there mayb some old threads which may have gone unnoticed by the new members or even the old members... is it necessary tat we completely ignore the old threads???

who knows.. mayb the bump of threads may wake up some one... ;)

^^ yup and closing all the threads will take ages unless Admins can do it directly from DB.

If you do come across any old threads being raked up for the silliest of reasons, just report such posts. Mods would take it from there.

And no we are not going to auto close or manually close old threads for now, as its not such a huge problem.

Its a minor aberration which can be dealt very easily :)

IMO not all old ..post should be completely closed..maybe some of them are really helpful.. only the one's which have less replies..and are not very informative..may be closed.

is closing =deletion ?means completely invisible ? or they will just be closed..

its ok if u will close..it but i hope they are not deleted..

you could show something like a warning for very old threads. smf does it like "You may be posting in a very old thread"
