Videocon will be launching its 4G LTE services in 7 circles of India which include Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, UP west, UP East, Bihar and Jharkhand from December 2013.

Arvind Bali, director and CEO of Videocon Telecommunication said at a press conference, "In this auction, we have right to offer 2G, 3G, LTE and other high-end data services to customers. We are not interested in 3G but have started working on launching 4G or LTE services in all the seven circles. We will hit the market with the service by December 2013”.

This is good news owners of 4G smartphones such as iPhone 5, LG Optimus 4G, Lumia 920 etc as the Videocon 4G will support FD-LTE which most of the smartphones use. On the other hand other Airtel 4G uses TDD- LTE which does not support most smartphones and users need special 4G dongles support TDD-LTE to use the 4G services.
