Aiwa stuff is being collected by collectors. I had its decade old cassette walkman. Sold it on OLX for the full price.

How do you get to know about this stuff? As in what vintage stuff is in demand? I have an old Sony CD Walkman, would that fetch a good price as well?

I honestly don't know what vintage stuff is in demand and why. About aiwa walkman, I realised after putting its listing up on OLX.

The Aiwa walkman was purchased at ~1k (probably around 2000)
I listed it on OLX it at the same price including shipping (probably around 2015).
Got a buyer within a few minutes. It was an old guy in sixties. He insisted on paying promptly.
I checked the walkman again before shipping. Realised left side headphone wasn't working properly. Told him so. I was going to offer him some refund. But he refused. He said it's all right. Mind you, the headphones were really high quality compared with the other headphones of that time. Buyer thanked many times during the process.

That's how I know aiwa is being collected. No idea about Sony. See, it's not the device itself that's important. What you are doing basically is facilitating them with high quality means to enjoy their vast collection of audio they gathered in their youth. They will pay more because at this point money doesn't matter.

Plenty of takers for nostalgia. I'm one of them. I have 10+ hifi cassette decks and more record players and CD players than i need. I got a discman from a tbhp giveaway and bought a Walkman from eBay USA. Have plenty of stuff to play on them too.

I have an Aiwa walkman with bass boost. Not selling it though. Have 2 boxes of casette tapes lying around with mold on them. I had plenty of old single and double cassette players i junked a few months back from Akai to Philips. There s no space in home and they collect dust and house looked like bangarwala shop.
