I'd assume inward transfer of video from a camcorder.. what else?

Techhead really sorry..to interfere in u tr thread..:huh:

but i too had the same question in my mind for quiet soemtime...but didnt knw what to ask..

i have a gainward 6600gt golden.sample with VIVO ..but i dont know how i can use it ?

what i want to do :

1 )i have a camcorder sony dcr-h36e so i want to transfer/record all that is there on the tapes to the pc .is it possible to do so using VIVO without losing on quality (not the quality of USB capture).

2)PLAY GAMES LIKE CARBON/MOST WANTED by using TV as the display..with good quality. once i did this using composite and s-vid but the video quality was not really good..the games ,movies were ok ..but the text was not readable...

i hope u can give me some info on both of this.

once again sorry techhead...

@faheem:

1) Use the S-video out on the camcorder to S-video (composite) in on the video card.

2) TV resolution is waaaay lower than that of the monitor, so text will appear smaller and blurrier. Can't do anything about that.

The only way to transfer Handycam videos in full uncompressed Video quality with all its original glory is through Firewire..

Beware that an hour of footage occupies ~13 GB (In an uncompressed avi container)

However, you can always compress this 13GB of data to an Xvid/DivX video in its otiginal (720X576 (?) ) resolution and ~1500kbps bitrate to more mangeable sizes

Google it..
It's a feature of the videocard itself.. either comes with it or doesn't.
