Audio wanna get z-5500 but

so like everybody has been tellin me to get z-5500, i wanna get it but there is a problem.

my mobo is ga-ex58-ud5. which has a famous design flaw. see the pci-e x1 n the pci-e x4 slot below :

getting a z-5500 w/o a sound card seems stupid. and most sound cards work in a pci-e x1 slot. now the slot only allows a card which is shorter than the point where the heatsink starts. and to add to that i have an internal tv tuner card which uses the only available pci slot(the other one is covered by my gpu)

what do i do?

are there any other options for a sound card?

my mobo has onboard sound. but tht just ouldnt cut it. would it?
 
If the mobo has a digital output the sound quality is good enough for the z-5500. I use a toslink between my gigabyte 78gm-s2h and z-5500, enable dts encode and the results are satisfactory. Never miss a sound card.
 
with a Z5500 you have other things to worry than a soundcard.

Why would you blow thousands on a system which doesnt even have proper tweeters/full range drivers?

Get an entry level Onkyo/ JBL+ Pio/ JBL + HK setup for around 20-25K.

You seem to have an amazing system why mar the experience with something as crap as the Zs.

Anyways SQ is a very subjective matter and if you like the sound of the Zs then theres no questioning.

well my mobo has optical / coaxial output but you have to have soundcard like DX because if you want to get Multichannel Dolby onboard ports dosent support it seems.
you can get multichannel Dolby sound from sound card like DX.

Please check your sound configuration. in control panel check speaker configuration when working in SPDIF mode --> its 2 channel.. :mad:

@the OP: Look up fellow delhites having the Zs request them a demo i guess many would love to let you audition them. and then decide. afterall you are gonna spend hard earned 17K on that thing.

Onkyo HTS starts @ 20k , however they don't perform that well in games / music .
Awesome for movies though , also come with dedicated amp .

last time 2-3 months back, i tried it was around 17,500 i think.
 
I purchased this from Nehru place last week for 17,500 +4% vat.Performance is great .

Games :mind blowing

Movies: Great

Music : good

I tested it through coaxial spdif out on my P5Q pro ,and have got realtek 1200ALC on board soundboard .
