Yep, I just saved a mate lots of $$. I'd told him to get the XPS 1330 and I just googled for Intel's mobile roadmap updates and found this. Called him immediately and he cancelled the order.

You could set your clock to Intel's mobile platform roadmap. For the last three years, the company announced its new processor lineup in January, followed by a chipset and processor refresh in June. June is always a critical month for notebook manufacturers, as the impending school semester spurs the largest volume orders on the year.

DailyTech - Intel Roadmaps Outline Centrino 2 Platform This June

I've already delayed my Macbook purchase by a month, since rumours are that Apple is giving the Macbook a steel finish along with the Montevina update, I'd strongly suggest you guys hold out as well.

P.S. - Montevina = Centrino 2.

In the case of laptops, it could take a lot more than a month, right? Because even if Intel rolls out new components, it will take a bit of time for new laptops to be rolled out...

Especially somewhere like India; new components could take some time before they come here.

No... Its not like that... If you are purchasing through Dell... It will take the same time ;)... Cause yours is made to order and then is shipped from the factory...
