Hi ,
I am saw lot of thin clients available for sale on ebay.in . Had a thought of converting one of these to a browsing machine.
Is is possible. ?
Some of the thin clients use AMD geode or ARM 11 processors and have around 256 MB of RAM .
Can we reflash /format the flash disks and use the thin clients for browsing and as a download rig. ?
Has some one among done this experiment ?

Not sure about the first model but the HP thin client comes with 512MB of flash storage. So theoretically you should be able to run any x86 OS as long as it is lightweight.
The HP one already comes with a Debian based linux distribution so it is possible

Would suggest to go for the ones with 2/4GB of NAND. The main advantage being that the number of distri's that can be installed is much more.
