Currently i m having intel p4 (478 pin socket),gigabyte mobo with 3 pci slots only  .....and 1.11 gb ddr ram ............240 gb ata 100 hdd

as i love gaming so i have decided to buy new processor.......

plz suggest which processor shuld i buy, so that i can run all the future games
even in lower setting  .....

plzz note :- my budget is around inr 7000 (including mobo ,ram  )....

what bout amd 4200+ .????

Which motherboard do you have?

Can you post a CPU-Z screenshot?

If you want to buy an AMD processor, you will have to change the motherboard too.

I am suggesting a new processor + mobo combination.

Intel Core 2 Duo E2140

ABit I-45CV or Gigabyte GA-G31MX-S2

1 GB DDR2 667/800

You will need to get a good graphics card if you want to play any current or future games decently.

this what i got ..on running cpuz.......

i will not mind buying new hard disk..but it should support hdd ata 100.....wat do u say?

You have an Intel 845 chipset motherboard, which is very old and outdated. You can't put in any new processor on this motherboard.

You will have to upgrade your processor, motherboard and ram.

biostar p35 d2 (4.8k)

e4500 CPU c2d 2.2ghz (5k)

2gb transcend 667 mhz ram (2k)

^^ these above are totally needed if u wanna go anywhere near to playing todays games. Atleast this is what i recommend.

+ u need a good gfx card maybe a 8600GT DDR3 256MB card (5k)

atleast 15k needs to be in your hands.

OR

a little cheaper option would be

E 2160 (3.3k)

Palit N73V (2.7k)

1gb ddr2 (1.1k)

8600gt gfx (5k)

since I have never used AMD proccys/mobo. I dont know about that. others can tell u better about it.

But getting an intel is better coz you can get free support from me atleast ;-)

on a serious note. i have no clue about it.

amd will definitely giv more multimedia performance...
still intel beats it due to overclking potential....
for amd u can go for x2 4000 n jetway690g
tht way u can save for gcard later...as 690g has excellent onboard graphics n good overclocking too.

i think a better solution would be to invest as little much possible on CPU+Mobo and save up for the graphics card. Get the cheapest dual core configuration you can get (CPU+mobo), pair it with 2 gigs of 667MHz DDR2 and use the remaining money on the graphics card.

also how do u all rate this combination

amd athlon x2 4000+ 3500

Asus M2NPV-MX 2800

ram 1 gb ddr 1000

+ good graphic card(that i can add later !)
