Storage Solutions Warranty procedure for WD HDD

It's simple. If you've verified the RMA cover for your product & it's in valid warranty (check here : https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/WarrantyCheck?lang=en)
1. Go here and resgister an account : https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/?lang=en
2. Register your product
3. When you enter your account, after registration, you can also see a tab with option to RMA. Create a case for RMA by following the instructions (very simple & is a no brainer) which usually ask's you whether you'd like to have your drive picked up by a courier - courtesy of WD or the option of shipping them the HDD yourself.
4. Print the premailer (basically flextronics address/contact information for you to stick on the package of your HDD for the courier.
5. Once the HDD reaches them, the turnaround time is usually 3-7 days & they'll send you back a new drive. Once the RMA request is generated - you can also track the status of the RMA case every step online.

Good Luck

And wher do you stay.....

since now a days fedex has taken over AFL couriers....
the home pick facility is quite a pain , as they dont turn up for almost couple of weeks at times .
once you generate the rma number, take the print of the rma premailer, stick it on the outside of the nicely packaged box and drop at the nearest fedex office. they will send it within the next day to bengaluru and you would receive the replacement within a week.

Hope this helps.;)

Interesting. I've RMA'd twice with WD.. courier pickup has never been an issue on both occassions. I'm from Mumbai proper. It's possible it's a location issue/downstream execution issue with the courier end itself & not WD
