Storage Solutions WD External 2009 1TB Sockets Not Aligned

After months of saving up, today, I decided to buy the new 2009 Edition of the WD My book Essential 1TB External Hard Disk. To my surprise, the "dc in" and "usb in" slots on the board inside the casing are not aligned with the casing. Now I don't know what to do. The cables wont go in. Have a look at the photograph:



What should I do?
 
even though it's not exactly DOA, the dealer should be able to provide you with an immediate replacement rather than going through an RMA.

not directly from him. he just helped me procure it and now he's gonna help me with this issue. infact, im meeting him in NP right now.
