Selling my WD HD media player bought quite some time back ( must be more than 5 years old)purchase date is placeholder.
Model no. WD00AVN-00. ( 1st Gen)
Rs 1300 plus shipping 200.

Condition - . It has been hardly used much. Bought mostly for Dad's room to play movies from pc for him as he was not switching to high end tv for his room .

Remote I forgot to take out the batteries and it seems to have leaked and rusted but maybe can get fixed or if you have some universal remote which might work. However the condition of the buttons and remote are pretty good.
( Please note without remote this cannot be operated) so consider it.
People with universal remote may try this ( just sharing info . Can’t say for sure if it will work or not )

I remember one usb port was bit trouble but rest all worked fine before I packed it completely and literally forgot about it till today .

I do not have time to do extensive testing so buyer needs to take it upon my words that it worked fine ( with one usb port issue ) last time I packed it.

Please note this is complete buyers risk from my side I have given the information with best and true to my knowledge.

I have considered all the facts and giving it away as best possible price for this player which might still be great use to many .

Will ship it as per my convenience.
Buyer must be patient.

If need any more information let me know.

Update (6/3/22)
I manage to test it extensively today .
Works absolutely fine.
Download an app ( remote controller for WD Tv ) and it would work like a normal controller for the device.

Played movies and files on the player absolutely fine.
Both usb drives also worked fine.

Updating with more pics .

Even made videos so incase any potential buyer wants to see more proof will share video too on it working absolutely fine.

Making a offer Rs 1300 including shipping.

Please dont ask for 1 day test warranty..it is not a big deal but I generally dont give test warranties. specially when I have no doubt about the product is working fine and have done my extensive testing and shared the results too.

this is old generation media player (gen 1) so do your full research on which formats it works.
Some people have manage to do custom firmware and really made it work with much more formats back then....so you can try but be warned it can brick the system too if not done properly.
May @ibose can shed more lights.

I remember downloading old hindi movies for my father and play for him.

Physically the device looks bit dusty but otherwise still in very good condition.

That was eons ago ..lol
I do not even recall if it was this model or another. Folks looking to buy this can do their own research and check the wiki -
Alright. I thought you would know how to do it so wanted you to shed some light.

I remember trying to do something like that but gave up fearing bricking the system.

Thanks anyways.

Had this back around 2010 - it ran a custom Linux kernel and was very hacker-friendly. However, the community (forums, firmware dev) has been dormant for years and I don't think it's easy to even get custom firmware anymore (I may have the brad firmware files still, if someone does buy this and would like to fiddle around). That said, it was a neat little device even with the stock firmware.

A huge drawback on the Gen1 (with stock firmware) was the lack of network support - with no built-in wired or wireless hardware available. This may have been the primary reason for custom firmware to exist - to get USB network adapters to work, in order to play media from a network share, fetch metadata, etc. This required that you get an adapter with a supported chipset which could be tricky.

As it turned out, my remote was missing when I got the device. And the device is pretty much unusable without the remote. Tried several universal remotes and none of them worked and had to get the remote shipped separately in the end. Later on, I did get a remote control app on my Nokia N900 to work. And much later, found that most remote control apps on Android worked just fine. So, to make life easier, it would make sense to buy only if you have a phone with an IR transmitter.

Here's a couple of bookmarks that still work (out of the several I had saved):
