WD Live all gen (1st, 2nd and 3rd) suffer from a typical bug where when using Youtube leanback or WD remote - the box crashes as soon as it finishes the song and skips to next.
This is known bug at WD forums and a fix was made available after months of reporting ... but only for the 3rd gen device. Reason - 1st and 2nd gen devices are 'legacy models' and has no more tech support.
Not at all appreciable!!!
Just because some junk developer could not code properly and lousy tester was in no mood to test, customers should not suffer. Customers paid money for a product and are entitled for a working model. It is fine to have no further enhancements / add-ons / whatever for a legacy model.. But leaving a BUG as it is ... Oh Please grow up WD.
Moreover it is a firmware fix.. no hardware upgrade. Few hours of coding and testing should suffice. Or they can release the source code and let the more capable developers willing to work freely fix it for WD.
What is ironical is WD knows what the issue is and how to fix it .. but not working on it shows how much they care about their BRAND VALUE. If WD wants to show this face to customers .. so be it.
