Fellow community members! :D

Most of our current set of moderators are busy catching up to life and are left gasping. So its not right to expect from them to take out time and help us push the community further. Therefore we intend to recruit fresh faces who have the time and zeal to carry on the baton of good work laid down by the previous teams.

As some of you might have noticed that things have slowed down a bit on TE and its time to put the spark back in. To do that we need to put some efforts and move the wheels till they are back upto speed. The present slowdown is because of the forum software movement that we had done last year. Things were declining since then and the issue was not identified in time. Now the problem has been addressed but the turnaround will also take a few months. I am expecting six months. This presents us with the perfect opportunity to build massively and come out even stronger and organised.

So that prologue aside, we are looking to not only fill the positions left vacant but also to expand the current staff strength.

As always, the moderators will be expected to carry out activities in developing and promoting sections under their control. Responsibilities include regular and proper moderation of threads created and posts made by members, posting new threads and encouraging members to participate in discussions. Basically, its all about keeping the section alive and kicking. To put it quantitatively you should be willing to at least create one thread on an average each day in your area of interest to encourage participation.

To summarize the responsibilities:

You can apply if you have more than 200 posts. Just send me a PM with the following questions answered:
  • Which sections do you frequent the most here on TE? (This does not necessarily have to be the sections in which you post the most.)
  • If you would be selected, which subforum(s) would you most like to be a moderator in and why?
  • How much time do you usually spend on TE?
  • What do you think TE should do to improve further?
We will take in nominations till 14th June and announce the new staff team by 15th June.

good job!! but choose wisely for the sake of TE!!

The forum does not make substantial amount of money. In fact it makes just enough to survive and pay for the operational costs, customization and experimental features. We do not spam the users with advertisements. Regardless of that being a moderator is a voluntary work on any forum community across the world. Moreover when money is involved, and more so when it is scarce, the returns have to be measured quantitatively and qualitatively and enforced. That is too much headache for voluntary work and for the health of the community. Everyone here has personal lives to take care of and therefore everything is flexible.

Some ppl asking asking about salaries wtf. if you are in for the money PLEASE DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. for the forum's sake. thank you.
I dont care how much money TE makes. If its a volunteering work then its a VOLUNTEERING work. If you dont like to do something you love for free don't.

@Renegade : suggest that you put up, a small note on "what is expected from a mod", at the beginning of this thread. That would give a more clear idea to the person volunteering.
I don't want to put in a long winded list of activities but to put it in short there are 3 expectations only:
1. Ensure that forum rules are being followed - http://www.techenclave.com/community/pages/forum-rules/
2. Keep your forum section active by posting content and guiding members
3. Be polite to members

I have updated the first post. :)
