Weird problem

System:

AMD 4200 + processor
Asus M2N SE PLUS MOBO
1 GB 800 MHz transcend DDR2 RAM
Windows XP
Problem: 1. IF i keep the CPU case closed from both sides after a while system suddenly turns off. I mean literally off

2. This occurs also when i play NFS prostreet , i srat playing the game and at any particular time again system turns off

3. This problem however does not occur with other games as often , althought it occurs occasionally.
is it RAM/ SMPS problem or XP problem or anyother problem?
 
Must be over heating, you should monitor the temperatures of your CPU, Mobo and GPU while playing with both your case open and case closed. then you will be able to get a clue on this.
 
A probable cause is ur psu .

Either its not ablt to supply enough power to ur pc or it could also be coz of overheating of PC components.i had the same problem once (pc used to turn off in random )turned out to be a bad PSU (zebronics pure platinum :mad: )

but i still think its ur PSU:)
 
Did you try installing some extra fans at the rear of your cabinet? that may improve air circulation in your cabinet.
