What are some ways to receive money from US ?

I wanted to know what are other ways to receive money from US other than PayPal or Xoom.

if that helps I have HDFC account here in India.
 
Remit2India, SBI and ICICI also have the facility. With Xoom u will get the money in under 4 hrs(Indian Banking) in Locked rates.

Other may give MAX 1 Rupee more, but will take 2 or 3 days.
 
Hawala is better, faster and more honest than all the above or below to be suggested ones...

I don't think it can only work one way. But since it is an illegal way, I don't wanna discuss it over here.
 
R2I lured me twice with their low transfer rates offer and they stole my money on both the occasions :D

They did the same when they launched calling cards. I didn't know that it was R2I and they robbed me again. :blackeye:

I use ICICI's Money2India and Bank of America's wire transfer service when I need to make automated transfers to India. And for rest of the needs, it's hawala... works for both US to IN and IN to US transfers.

East or west hawala is the best. I know it sounds cheesy but couldn't stop myself.
