What Hair fall Control/Hair growth remedy or product you have used that worked?

So a little intro about myself.
Hi I'm Nikhil, I'm 26 and I work as an accountant ( started working since I turned 18 coz of financial issues ) I also do some WordPress web development and also have a YouTube channel dedicated to gaming.

So even before I started my job, I noticed some grey/white hairs but they were not that noticeable. And I'm pretty sure I didn't had any hair fall issue at that time.
Between 2020-2022 I had receding hairline on right side and noticed that my beard has started to turn grey , but my beard have been grey only in the same spot fir past 4 years. no other hair in my bear in grey atm.
And sometime later I started losing hair on the left side too.
I used to stress a lot about work and all, but the only hair product I used were shampoo(H&S or pentene probably) and oil(Bajaj almond hair oil) which were available in a normal general store nothing extreme.
And now my hair are dry and falling like crazy. Even writing this I put my fingers in my hair to adjust them and got 2 strand of hair. I have never bothered why my hair are Turning grey or falling so much.
So if you are thinking why care now, I will be attending marriage of 3 of my cousins in 1st QTR of next year. That's why I want to at least consider a solution for hair fall.

I wanna know what product or remedy that helped you guys. I don't have any intention to spend too much money to save my hair atm but if doesn't burn a hole in my wallet I will definitely try it.

Both these sentences might be giving some clue.

Mostly, minoxidil 5% and 0.1% finasteride is what people go for upon hair fall. Better consult a dermatologist regarding this. Only then go for the treatment.
The shampoo you are using might be causing the dryness in the scalp. Do you have dandruff too? How often do you shampoo and apply hair oil?

No dandruff, I shampoo only on Sunday and Wednesday, and oil on Sunday, Wednesday, Friday.
Any brand that you would suggest ?

I read the article and I get that most of the shampoos are just chemicals and sooner or later they will do the damage.
So the article suggests something natural that does not completely remove natural oil from your scalp. Rest of the article seems like a promotion for Hairstory brand.

My suggestion would be to visit a dermatologist to understand the cause of hairfall. If cause is aloepecia/male pattern baldness, then solutions are PRP therapy, dustasteride/finasteride oral medicines as well as Minixidil/Finasteride topical solution.

Other reasons could be short term hormonal imbalance, fungal infection, vitamin deficiency and so on.

Please visit a dermatologist at the earliest and pick the most relevant treatment option.

The advice still is to get an appointment at a dermatologist. But mintop and tugain are two best minox options.

For now, you can get free consultation on man matters app upon sign up iirc. No need to follow their prescription but it's a good option to ask about basic doubts for free.

@NikhilSingh25
There is a word called 'nopoo' against shampooing, with lot of people mentioning harmful effect of shampoo and avoiding it. Didn't use that term and posted the forbes article for introducing the idea.
Should seriously look into side effects of Finasteride and other compounds which have a propensity to effect your life long-term especially since you are unmarried. So, consult a doctor for sure.

will try that, also I will be free this Sunday so will go and see a dermatologist.
I have neglected hairfall issue for so long maybe it's time I get serious.
Thanks everyone.

I would suggest consulting a dermotologist. My cousin had a similar issue like yours at 25. For him, minoxidil 5% and 0.1% finasteride, along with some kind of roller worked for him. The improvement isn't that great, but good enough that people get surprised. But you have to use consistently otherwise there are side effects like losing more hair or get patches, I don't remember the term exactly. My manager tried similar medicine at the age of 50, and I couldn't even recognize him.

Regarding the no-shampoo trend, it feels like dismissing all products as 'chemicals' and opting for natural alternatives has become a popular trend in every field, even medicine. Sometimes there are startups who bring up this trend to market their products. I believe most people don't consult a dermatologist or do enough research and practice to find what shampoo suits them, buy something that's well marketed and looks colorful, get unsatisfactory results, and then generalize that all shampoos are bad. Finding the right shampoo can take time and experimentation, but there are well-formulated options out there that suit different hair types and maintain scalp health.

I was advised not to use shampoo and conditioners frequently by a strict Dr., while living outside India. Referred Dr. after I got allergy on scalp, he asked me to avoid these kind of products. Anyways, a specialist may help OP.

Don't think those who follow nopoo use natural products too, don't know. I had some issues with natural products too, so I avoid shampoo in general. I use coal tar based shampoo once in a month or so, if required so.

Yes, this is the term.

That's why it's always YMMV. Certain people will be sensitive, and they need special products.
I have heard people use even baking soda and other such ingredients to clean hair. Soon we might see shampoos that come with the 'all natural' term, if not already present.

Finasteride is not worth the trouble even at 0.1% conc, the detrimental effects on your libido is not worth a few strands of hair.

This might not help everyone, but my hair fall rate stopped when I started using a gravity water filter (Rama Gravity Water Filter). Hairfall had started when I had moved to my new place in Mumbai, and I read online that this one had helped others - although causal mechanisms aren't really clear, and it could well be a flash in the pan - but I guess it might be worth a shot for some, as there is no downside to this intervention (except the cost of the filter).

Will it be same as using RO water?

Hard water always hard with hair too, especially for females as they have long hair.
To all hair fall victims, trim hair to 5cm or max to 10cm , keep same level for year around and you all will notice less hair fall.
For hair wash use normal RO water if hardwater supply in your area.
If Water supplied by Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) it is very good and no need to worry about.

BMC water is definitely good and it is not hard water at all.

Edit: Btw I should not be in this thread as I have no hair. Thanks to Dad's genes, starting losing in 20s and now all gone (except the back ones).

could work , maybe its the bad water that is doing the damage.
