CPU/Mobo What happened to the good old Award Phoenix bios?

We all know that in early 2000s Award bios was the preferred bios choice when AMI bios was just making its way inside mobos.

Curious as to what suddenly happened to Award bios? Seems it is completely replaced by AMI.

Has AMI taken over them or was there any merger or did Award shut downed its biz?

There was a merger between the two AFAIK and Award UI was dropped.
