CPU/Mobo What is CPU-Z ?

CPU-Z is a diagnostic tool that provides information on your CPU, including: processor name and vendor, core stepping and process, processor package, internal and external clocks, clock multiplier, partial overclock detection, processor features, supported instructions sets, L1 and L2 cache information, location, size, speed, and technology.

download & try it, it's freeware. the latest version is 1.31

you can also use the search feature, most of the question's would have answers posted before :)

^ Well said, agree completely :)

Why it is used for every overclock SS is cause it shows:

1. Processor used (eg: A64 3000+)

2. Speed it is currently running at i.e. OC'ed speed including HTT/FSB speed, multiplier used

3. The CPU Voltage (Vcore) being fed to it

4. In case of memory being OC'ed.. it shows memory speeds as well, along with memory timings.

Not to forget, its a very nifty tool, since its very small in size, and very handy when one of your cousins says they want to upgrade, but dont have a clue on what system they have.
